    A Toy to RememberThis is a very popular toy at my house. It has even managed to tear my 4-year-old away from the Playstation IV games he likes to play for an hour or two. My 4-year-old and 2-year-old grandsons love cranking the ladder up and down and running their little people toys up and down, building towers with their MegaBloks and raising the ladder up to rescue people from the heights. The younger one also likes to "wash" the fire truck with its hose. I haven't yet disclosed to them that water can be put in the tank and actually squirted out through the hose. I'm saving that for the right moment. But they have discovered the flashing lights and the siren. It's sturdy and a good size and the boys love it. The only thing we don't like about it is that the driver and passenger doors on the cabs don't open. I'm fairly certain that this toy will be remembered for a long time when they grow up. 5Close to perfection.Nonstop play with this one. We can't believe how high the bucket can reach! We are NOT letting our 3yo add water until he's a little older and can make better judgment calls. Only "cons" are that 1. the hose itself is a bit of a hazard, so we don't let him have it in his room at night (maybe we would have gotten a different Bruder fire truck had we realized), and 2. the doors don't open, darn it. We hesitated to spend this much...so glad we did! Absolutely worth it. 5Loved by 3yr OldI'll do my best to give a fair review. We currently own a Bruder garbage truck, cement mixer, and this fire engine. My 3yr old son loves to play with these almost daily.The good:- If the child is into 'trucks', this will be much liked- They are pretty big- They have features the simulate the real deal. On this fire engine that includes ladders that extend and a pump and hose that will spray real water.The not as good:- They do cost quite a bit for what you get.- They are only plastic and some things will break. At first I was a little concerned and wanted my son to be more careful, but quickly gave up on that. Now he plays as he wants, and to be fair they have held up pretty well.Overall: recommend if your child loves trucks. Many hours of playtime is great. Getting a few minutes of peace while they do their own thing is priceless sometimes. 4High quality, realistic details!High quality toy fire truck. Made of metal, not cheap plastic. This is a big truck - bigger than any of the dump trucks, excavators and other vehicles we are used to. The ladder extends a long distance and is easy to work. Although there is a pumping mechanism and the hose squirts water, the hose isn't reall easy to roll up, so most of the time it's dragging on the floor when the truck is being wheeled around. 5The quality is not worth the priceFirst of all, for this price this should be a legit heavy duty metal truck not plastic. It's 5 months later and 3 of the wheels have snapped under the truck and come off (my son isn't even rough on his toys!) It would totally be worth $20-25 but this price is absurd for what you get. It's a reasonably cool truck and it's fun that you can pump out little spurts of water, it's just not a $50 truck. We also received the wrong fire truck at first and had to exchange it which is hard for a toddler to grasp and doesn't make for a joyous situation like it should've been. Bruder makes cool looking trucks but they're just so absurdly priced for the quality of the item you get. 2My Son Loves it, but I think It's VERY OverpricedI usually don't complain about the cost of toys. If you think a particular toy is too expensive then don't buy it. In this case, it's not the fact that I'm spending $60 on a toy truck, but the fact that I am spending $60 on a rather fragile toy truck. There is not much to this truck. It's entirely made of thin plastic. I have little doubt that this truck won't last more than a month or two at the hands of my 4 year old. I was upgrading a similar truck from Battat, which was less than half the price in hopes this truck would be more solid. Nope. It's basically the same truck, although the water hose actually works with the Bruder truck unlike the cheaper Battat whose water hose we could not get to work from day 1.Don't get me wrong, my 4 y/o is obsessed with this truck. He loves it. I am just disappointed with the quality. 3Exceptional durability for reckless toddlerThe high-quality of this toy is evident in the fact that my 2.5-year-old son has been dragging it around by the hose (like a pull toy, or mistreated dog) frequently after yanking it on it's side for months and there isn't a chip, crack, or ding to be found! He also uses the ladder as a handle, during which he manually extends the ladder (opposed to turning the knob) and everything still functions properly!Mine & my husband's excitement about the toy on the day it arrived resulted in us filling the water tank (for the hose), and allowing my son to operate the water pump feature in the house. However, I recommend that other parents use better judgement & restrict this feature to outside playtime only as the water pressure & volume proved to be quite impressive for a toy hose!As far as the cost: I have no problem paying more for high-quality products. Comparatively, the durability & quality design adequately justify the higher price tag on this truck. However, since the world of toy vehicles is innundated with fire engines, if I were to go back in time, I would probably chose a different type of vehicle. Bruder offers a large variety of toy trucks and I sorta wish I took advantage of this (i.e. by picking one of the construction vehicles or Mack semis instead of the fire engine) during the selection process.Overall, I'm very satisfied & impressed with this product & highly recommend!! Oh! And I also appreciate the lower-volume (compared to other toy fire engines) of the siren & engine sounds! 5It's the greatest brand, and this is a perfect example of ...It's a Bruder Fire Engine - what more needs to be said?! It's the greatest brand, and this is a perfect example of why Bruder toys are worth the little extra cost. The ladder extends to as high as the 3 year-old grandson stands, pumps water, and has lights and sound. We LOVE the designers who made the siren very soft - you can have a conversation while the siren is going and it's not distracting. Definitely worth the little more for a much longer life span of a toy - and much better quality than anything I've seen. 5High quality ladder engine for young fire-fightersThis Christmas present for our 3-year-old grandson was instantly a hit. It has functions such as a working ladder, water hose, working doors and sound-effects that greatly enhanced the experience of "fire-fighting" for our little public safety officer. We have numerous 5-alarm fires around the house each day, which thankfully are put out...at least until the next alarm sounds! Your fireman-in-training will appreciate the quality of this toy, though he/she might initially be confused because the truck's siren is the European version rather what is normally heard in the United States. Given its reasonably rugged construction for a plastic fire-engine, we anticipate many successfully-dispatched emergencies this winter and beyond! 5Would be perfect if it had opening doors !Bruder are well made, high quality and we'll engineered toys but for some reason on this truck to doors don't open. Kind of a big downfall when you can't put firemen in the truck to drive, ride shotgun or ride in back to the imaginary emergencies. There's seats and room for the guys but no way of getting them in. And they were not pressed for room with the doors, it's not like they were forced to eliminate doors due to the complexity of the structure and doors interfering with it's functions, no somebody or a bunch of somebodies let that one slip by. 4
