This is the BIG one!Bought this quickly after my daughter lost hers on a trip (we originally bought it at the D.C. zoo) - "Fluffy" goes everywhere with her! Beware there is a "small" and "large" version of this plushie, the small one must be more like 7 inches and cost $15 at the zoo. I didn't realize how big 12 inches would be, but this is a steal of a price for it! She loves him, but we did have to buy her a smaller one again for everyday portability. Great overall plush and one of the best red pandas out there. 4Amazing quality, holds up great to toddler!The Red Panda was the first animal my son saw at the zoo, so, when I saw this in the gift shop, I had to get it for him, and it's been a great purchase. First Panda had a run in with one of our dogs, and while a trip to the Grandma Stuffed Animal Hospital got him right as rain, I'm a little concerned how the stuffing will hold up with the very necessary trips through the washer and dryer. First Panda is over a year old, and still going very strong. I got Second Panda from here, and I'm currently trading them off when one gets too stinky from having his muzzle sucked on by a toddler. (My son likes to carry Panda by the muzzle... with his teeth.) The care instructions just call for spot cleaning with a damp cloth, but Second Panda, without the surgery work of First Panda, does very well in a lingerie bag in the washer on the delicate cycle. I do a short cycle on low heat in the dryer and followed by time on the clothes line (still in the lingerie bag.)I'm about to buy two more, because dear lord, I don't want to see what will happen if he has to try to sleep without Panda.Update: We currently have 5 Pandas in circulation. They ve all been to the Grandma Stuffed Animal Hospital for rhinoplasties, but there s no way to tell which one is 2.5 years old or 6 months old. I m really surprised how well these have held up! 5So cute!The red panda is super cute and plushie. I wish the face was a bit more symmetrical. Also it s been shedding the black fur a bit. The other thing it s that when viewed from the side it s kinda hunched, so it pretty much looks like it s pooping for the most part. It s still really cute and soft and we love it :) 4Soft but rippedStart off by saying my son loved this. He loved how soft and cuddly it was. He was so happy he doesnt want to part with it. Which makes it really hard because I really want to send it back. We have had it a total of 20 minutes and the fur is already falling out. Then I noticed the head has a hole and is not even sewn together. Really disappointed mama. 2Maybe I got a badly sewn one, but...Should be cute, but one ear is sewn on wrong, so one stands up as it should, and the other lies backwards flattened to the head. Poorly made. 2Irreplaceable in our home (for our 5-year-old son)We got the first "manifestation" of this red panda, which my 5-year-old calls "Meni," after a famous red panda in Nepal or thereabout--anyway, we bought it at the National Zoo [I don't like zoos, but his preschool class went, so I tagged along]. *His favorite stuffed animal EVER*--by far. Soft, plush, adorableMany many months after Meni joined our household, we took Amtrak up to Manhattan--and, oh NO!--somehow Meni must have been left on the full, busy train. Had my child discovered this, he would have felt crushed, so--whether this is ethical parenting behavior or not--we saw that Amazon sells the same brand we got at the National Zoo, we ordered it while in New York, told our little guy "Meni was left on the train but we arranged for you to have Meni when we get back home--he'll be there before we will!" Amazon, indeed, had it delivered (with our Prime acc't) with free, 2-day delivery--& all was okay.So, yes--I imagine any child who likes animals (especially red pandas) and stuffed counterparts would adore this, 5Plushie!Red Pandas are one of Earth's cutest animals, and this stuffed toy does it justice. It has sort of a bean bag filling in the butt and back legs so you can prop it sitting up and gives it a quality feel to the weight. The tail is long and the fur is all so soft. I bough one for myself a year ago and even through sleeping with it fairly often, it's plenty durable. I just sent one to an 8 year old who had a blast showing it to her friends-most who had never heard of the animal. It was a great way to encourage curiosity in a kid who doesn't normally like traditional learning. 5Great but One HoleI have bought a product from One Republic before and the animal had a leg hanging by a string. Sewing on these animals seems to be a recurring problem for me because this Red Panda had a hole in its leg. Honestly it was not worth the trouble of replacing so I just sewed the hole back. I am really disappointed because these are my daughters favorite stuffed animals, but I will probably continue to buy more just for her sake.But I must give it to them it is soft and really cute and my daughter and I both love it so I think it is certainly worth 4 stars. 4Missing fur around eyeJust received my order and the panda is adorable but it s missing the white fur above the left eye. Where the fur should be is bare and the white mesh fabric which has pin holes for the fur to go in shows. This does not look nice at all. It was to be a Christmas gift for my grandson who loves red pandas. I am very disappointed that I will not have it to give to him Christmas morning. I do hope it is possible to get a replacement. 3Red Panda is my favoriteI was looking for Christmas gift ideas for my 8 year old granddaughter. So many things for her age are little miniature toys or craft type kits that will soon be gone. She said her most important part was that it be a gift that lasts. So I stumbled across the Cuddlekins Wild Republic stuffed animals. I fell in love and wound up ordering a bit of a zoo for her. Every single animal is so well done. These are all such high quality and soft and cuddly while also realistic. I must say though, that the Red Panda was my favorite. I cannot wait to see her face when she sees all of them. 5
